2026 EVENT CALENDAR

Welcome, Bar T clinics are BACK! At Bar T Horsemanship, we’re not content to just improve your horse–we want to leave our brand on you as well. We believe that if a horseman isn’t continually improving, they’ll get as stagnant as that murky puddle his horse is afraid to cross. With our 2026 spring lineup, we’ll keep the knowledge flowing, the horses moving, and the relationships growing.

All clinics are for every discipline, every kind of horse, and any skill level rider!

Clinics will be held at our facility in northern Chatham County, off Hwy 87 (730 Pete Thomas Road, Pittsboro, NC). To reserve your spot, please register by emailing thejamiestaggs@gmail.com with the following information:

  1. Your full name
  2. Your contact phone number
  3. Your horse’s name
  4. Your horses’s age
  5. Number of years of riding experience
  6. Riding experience level
  7. Desired clinic date

A deposit of 50% of the clinic fee is due at registration; payment via Venmo.  Unfortunately, due to late cancelling and no-shows, deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.  If you have questions, feel free to text or call Jamie at 919-802-2520 or Jim at 919-428-3209.  You can also message us on our Facebook Page, Bar T Horsemanship.

You may audit any clinic for a fee of $30/day that includes lunch.

Clinics start promptly at 9:00am.  Our property is open at 8:00am, so please arrive early to settle in and get your horse cared for.  We usually start with a meet ‘n greet on the barn deck and then proceed to tack and ride depending on the clinic.  All clinics include a hearty lunch with drinks and desert.

We have limited facilities to board your horse overnight if you are planning on attending a multiple day clinic.  We also have trailer hookups if you plan to spend the night.

Experience True Horsemanship– Come ride with us.

Mini-Clinic
This is where we welcome members of our community to come and hang out with us at the Bar T.  We talk horses, network and ride.  This year, Jim will teach a segment on Trailer Loading.  This clinic is free of charge, we just ask that you bring a dish to share or contribute $20 for food.  There will be plenty of good chow, so come hungry for food, knowledge and fellowship.

Comprehensive Horseman’s Clinic

Cow Clinic
This is our ever popular Introduction to Cows clinic, good for any discipline! This clinic is for anyone who wants to learn how to push cows in the pasture and do cow work in the arena.  Please note that this is not a roping clinic.  The fee is $275 and there is a limit of 10 participants.  If this clinic fills up, we will add another day, May 3. Saturday, May 16, 9:00am – 4:00pm
Obstacles and Trail Clinic
This year, we are combining these two clinics.  A few of the challenges we will address are; buddy sour/herd sour horses, rider confidence, crossing water, gait transitions from walk/trot to canter/lope, jigging on the trail, standing on a loose rein, following too close, speed control and softness in the horses body.  In addition to the obstacle field, we will include some obstacles on the trail.  The fee is $250 and there is a limit of 8 participants.

We are also working on hosting a Working Equitation Clinic and looking for a clinician to come do an Intro to Western Dressage. If anyone knows either, please send the information to Jamie at 919-802-2520.
