HOORAY!!! Bar T clinics are BACK!!! At Bar T Horsemanship, we’re not content to just improve your horse–we want to leave our brand on you as well. We believe that if a horseman isn’t continually improving, they’ll get as stagnant as that murky puddle his horse is afraid to cross. In our 2025 clinic lineup, we’ll keep the knowledge flowing, the horses moving, and the relationships growing.
Clinics will be held at our facility in northern Chatham County, off Hwy 87 (730 Pete Thomas Road, Pittsboro, NC). For payment we prefer Venmo, but if you need another option just let us know! Deposits for clinics are 50% of the clinic fee. Clinics include a hearty lunch! All clinics are for every discipline, every kind of horse, and any skill level rider!
*AUDITING is $30 per clinic (not the mini clinic) and includes lunch!*
If you come to a two day clinic you may board your horse overnight with us and if you want to spend the night in your horse trailer we do have hookups. We also have paddocks and stalls where your horse can stay overnight.

MARCH 2025
FIRST SPRING MINI CLINIC/OPEN HOUSE. **MARCH 2, 1-5pm**
Fee is $20 or bring a dish to share (sides and sweets are welcome).
Mini clinics at Bar T are all about Fellowship, Food, and Horses! They are a casual event where you can use the premises, including the arena, round pen, pastures and obstacles. Jim will be available to work through any problem you may have or just to chat about your horse!
Do you have to bring your horse? You do not! You are welcome to come hang out and meet other like-minded equine lovers! Did I mention there is Food?! “Cost of admission” is $20 or bring food! These are fun, low pressure events!
FUNDAMENTALS OF HORSEMANSHIP **SATURDAY, MARCH 22 9am to 4pm** $250, Limited to 10 horses. If you want to attend both Saturday and Sunday this particular weekend the cost is $400 for both days.
This is a groundwork only clinic, aimed at young horses, people newer to horses, or people who want to learn proper natural horsemanship groundwork.
OBSTACLE CLINIC **SUNDAY, MARCH 23 9am to 4pm**. $250, Limited to 10 riders
Want to test your horsemanship? Ask your horse to tackle a task he isn’t comfortable with– it’s then you’ll know if your horse is your partner through thick and thin! Or, do you have the urge to run your horse through an obstacle course at full speed? Well, before you can run you have to walk! By tackling individual horsemanship exercises, then pairing those exercises with obstacles, this innovative clinic provides confidence to both the horse and rider. We’ll also work on more advanced obstacles and object interactions such as carrying flags, crossing water, throwing ropes, dragging logs, etc. We’ll work through issues from the ground, then the saddle, to prepare you and your horse for anything! This is always a super fun clinic and fills quick! *this can be a groundwork only clinic for the horses not yet under sadde, or you can ride in the afternoon*
APRIL 2025
COW WORK **SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 9am-4pm** $275, Limited to 8 riders
This one-day clinic is all about getting your horse exposed to cows. You and your horse will get cattle familiarization, move the herd in an open environment, understand flight-zone, get a feel for pressure/release with the cow. No matter what discipline you ride, this is a terrific confidence builder for you and your horse!!
TRAIL CLINIC **SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 9am to 4pm** $250, Limited to 10 riders
A few of the challenges we will be addressing with our horses are: Buddy Sour/Herd, Sour Rider confidence, Crossing Water, Gate transitions from walk, trot, to canter/lope, Jigging on the trail, Standing on a loose rein, Following too close, Crossing Obstacles/jumping (for the brave), Speed Control, Softness in the body (the horse). This will be a relaxing learning experience! Come ride on our Amazing trails!!
MAY 2025
TWO DAY CONFIDENCE THROUGH HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC **MAY 3 AND 4, 9am to 4pm** $400, Limited to 8 riders.
One of the biggest hurdles for riders is Lack of Confidence. The first day we will go over groundwork exercises, then the rest of the day is in the saddle. Jim will teach lots of various exercises to improve your horses, and your confidence. The second day will include cantering work for those who want to be more confident cantering. This was a very popular clinic last year and we helped many riders of all various skill levels. No matter your skill level riding, you will grow as a rider in this clinic! Jim always will make sure you feel safe and confident! This is also good for young horses going under saddle.
We do have spots for your horse to stay overnight and you can also camp in your trailer if you would like. Lunch is provided and if you would like to stay for dinner after the clinic on Saturday you are welcome to!
